Meet Ruth Sarfo
Rusar Best Furniture is not a shop that buys furniture in and marks it up. It is a workshop, and it is run by the carpenter whose name is on the door.
A woman in a trade that did not expect her
Carpentry in Ghana is still treated as a man’s trade. Ruth Sarfo learned it anyway — properly, at the bench, with her hands — and then did the harder thing: she opened her own workshop instead of working in someone else’s.
Today Rusar Best Furniture designs, builds and installs furniture for homes and businesses across Ghana from its workshop in Oyibi, Greater Accra. Ruth still works the floor. She takes the measurements, she checks the joints, and she is the person who picks up the phone when you call.
I did not want to sell furniture somebody else made. I wanted to build it myself, so I could stand behind every joint in it.
That is not a slogan. It is the reason customers get a straight answer about what their furniture is made from, why a quote does not quietly grow halfway through, and why a piece that needs adjusting gets adjusted rather than argued about.

Why it matters to you
What a woman-owned workshop actually changes
This is not just a nice story. It changes how the work gets done.
Detail is not optional
Ruth built this business in a trade that scrutinised her. Sloppy work was never an option, and that standard is now simply how the workshop runs.
You reach the owner
No sales desk between you and the person building your furniture. You explain it once, to the one who will actually make it.
Comfortable dealing with us
Many of our customers are women furnishing their own homes, and they tell us plainly that dealing with this workshop feels different. We take that seriously.
How we work
Four promises we hold ourselves to
01
An honest price
The quote states the material, the finish and the timeline. If something genuinely changes, we tell you before we do it — not after.
02
Your measurements
We build to the room you have, not to a standard size that leaves a gap you have to live with.
03
You see it happening
Progress photos while your furniture is being built. You never have to wonder whether work has started.
04
We finish the job
Delivered, installed, levelled and cleaned up. We are not done when it leaves the workshop.
The workshop
Come and see the work in person
Photographs only go so far with furniture. You cannot feel a finish or test a drawer runner on a screen. Our showroom sits beside Good News Bible College in Oyibi, Greater Accra — come and open the doors, look at the joinery and see how it is put together.
If you cannot travel to Oyibi, that is not a problem. Most of our customers start on WhatsApp with a photo and a measurement, and plenty of jobs are completed for customers in other regions entirely.
